What does UNICEF mean to you?
PRESIDENT

Vali Banerjee
PRESIDENT
UNICEF means a way to give vulnerable, disempowered children a voice. UNICEF helps with equal access to opportunities, education, and resources to ultimately provide children all over the world with fulfilling, healthy lives and bright futures. Being able to be part of an organization that focuses on making an impact while meeting amazing, hardworking individuals is something that makes me feel very proud.

UNICEF means a place to give back to communities who are less fortunate and have the power to create a positive and kind influence on others. With UNICEF, we are able to make a change and impact on the world. We are able to expand our knowledge on the global and social issues that take place in modern society and create solutions to solve them. I have been a part of Rutgers UNICEF since my freshman year, and I am so proud of how much the club has grown since and excited for upcoming year.

UNICEF means being part of a heartwarming community! Being able to help children locally and around the world with other college students and seeing the impact we made is what drew me to UNICEF my Freshman year. Seeing what my peers have accomplished for others is truly inspiring and encourages me to make a difference. I can't wait to see what is to come for this year and what we as an organization can achieve <3

UNICEF means being part of something bigger! Helping disadvantaged children in an initiative that really stood out to me that is too prevalent in our world today! The idea that with out help as a RU UNICEF family, we can help pave the way to a better future for these kids is something I would not miss a chance being a part of. I can't wait to help make a difference one child at a time!

UNICEF means raising awareness and taking action to protect the rights and quality of life for future generations. I joined UNICEF because I wanted an opportunity to volunteer and make new friends who are passionate about giving back to the community, and advocating for children in need around the world! Every meeting I learn so much about what is happening in the world, and I’m grateful for this community that we have to safely and productively talk about these issues and the actions we can take to help as students:)

UNICEF means a representation of a small part of my personality. I have been in UNICEF since my freshman year in High School, and with every year, I am just more grateful and proud to be part of an organization that strives for such great improvements in society. This is my first year on the e-board for Rutgers UNICEF, and I cannot wait to accomplish some great feats with the UNICEF family this year.

"UNICEF’s remarkable vision and mission to protect the rights and advocate for the welfare of children living in underserved communities truly inspires me. Through this club, I seek to educate myself and others regarding this ongoing global phenomenon by using the necessary resources and information. It is a strong personal belief that children should not be deprived of a happy childhood and UNICEF inherently reflects this sentiment so I am very honored to be a part of Rutgers UNICEF’s E-board and catalyze a good difference one step at a time."

"Helping children realize that they are more than just the circumstances they were born into is a value of UNICEF’s that I strongly admire. Joining has made me more aware of global issues and has educated me on different ways to provide this generation’s solutions. As a freshman, UNICEF has brought me a community of positive role models who have a genuine passion for creating change. I’m so thankful for my UNICEF family and the year ahead!"

I joined UNICEF because after working with children over the past few years, I’ve learned just how crucial it is for them and their development to have access to resources and an education. Children have so much potential to achieve and they all deserve happiness for the future. I want to help further influence children in a positive way and help provide aid to those less fortunate than us. UNICEF is able to reach out to so many communities, locally and all over the world, which is something I look forward to involving myself in this year!

UNICEF means being a part of a community that first and foremost gives back. As an organization, we work to help out children in disadvantaged communities around the world by raising awareness and creating positive change. Being able to make a meaningful impact in these communities is was what drove me to join this organization. Our Rutgers UNICEF Chapter has already done some great work for the community and I am excited for us to continue growing and doing more to help out.

For me, UNICEF means driving global change towards the world we want. Children around the world are part of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups that many decision makers in our anarchic international political system tend to overlook. I do believe however that we as a society in the 21st century have the means and the collective power to change that. UNICEF gives young girls and boys a voice - and everyone of us the forum to become active and be part of a movement that strives for a better and more united world.
